300

One day I was watching 300, and after watching it...I felt like I wanted to create the armour of an Spartan warrior from the movie, mainly the sword, shield and helmet. After 1 hour or so everything was modelled and then I textured it, it turned out quite good, it looks perfect to add it to a game.

Helicopter

This helicopter was made for my honours project, initially the helicopter looked very different, then I decided to add more stuff around it and make it more interesting, the first pucture shows the original render for the honours project, the second picture shows the helicopter without texture, the third one is texture, I like how it looks, the main idea comes from the Apache helicopter, and then basically I altered some of the things around it. There is a huge difference between the original helicopter and the newer version, when I was working on the original, my skills were rather poor, I created models that looked very simple, after 2 months that I finished my honours project, I became a better modeler and I came up with better designs as you can see by looking at this helicopter. One of the reasons for this, was the words of advice from my 3d teacher, he told me that I needed to add a bit of bevel to the edges, I started doing this to my new models and it turned out a lot better than I expected.

Magneto's helmet

Most of the stuff I usually create comes from inspiration from movies, cartoons or animation, I watched X-Men First Class and I thought that creating Magneto's helmet could be cool, another model done in little time, about 1 or 2 hours, and I like how it looks. Sometimes I am bored and basically I start doing something random, this time was creating this helmet, I think it looks cool and could be use for adding props for the environment of an animation.

Beretta 9mm

This is a beretta 9mm, I like action movies, and I thought that creating a high poly beretta would be interesting.

This model was quite interesting to create as I wanted to make it as realistic as possible to the real gun, the ending product game me a good idea of what I could accomplish if I pay attention to the little details such the letters and the handle. Also once finished this model could be used for another animation or as props.

Below are 2 more pictures of the gun, with a silencer and the mag out, and without bullets.

On the second part of this blog I am going to upload some of my pass work and talk about it, how I did it, how long it took me, or why I did it, where the inspiration came from.

After my 4 years in university, I did not have much work done, and the work I had done, was rather low quality, so after my graduation holidays in may 2011, I started working as hard as I could whenever I had free time.

The beginning

Welcome to my blog, in this blog you are going to see what I do on my spare time, which is 3d animation, I enjoy creating models of different things such as cars, robots...

I will also talk about what is going on in my mind, ideas which I have, what I am doing at the moment, and show work which I am creating.

1st of all I will upload my work on this blog, then I will keep updating it with new work, and new ideas, perhaps your comments could help me to develop better ideas so dont be shy and comment on anything!

Thank you and enjoy!

Joni!
